Energy Ariya Challenge - Promoting sustainable energy generation!
Energy Ariya Challengeproposes to turn human energy generation into a social challenge, to raise awareness among primary school students about the need to increase energy efficiency and energy savings.

The Energy Challenge is a premier event dedicated to championing sustainability and energy conservation. Through a series of engaging activities, the initiative seeks to inspire and educate future generations on the vital importance of energy efficiency.
Designed specifically for Year 6 and Year 7 students (5th and 6th primary grades) across Mallorca’s municipalities, the programme invites participants to take on the morning challenge of generating power by pedalling stationary bicycles. This hands-on experience is complemented by a suite of awareness-raising workshops and interactive educational games. To further promote sustainable living, students are provided with a healthy, "kilometre zero" snack sourced from local produce.
In a meaningful twist, the kinetic energy generated on the bicycles is converted into a financial contribution, which is then reinvested into a local eco-social project within the municipality.
Following a highly successful 2025 campaign—which saw the participation of 18 municipalities and over 3,000 students—the third edition of the Energy Challenge is set to expand in 2026. This year, the tour will visit more than 20 Mallorcan municipalities, with events scheduled throughout the school term from February to June.
